East Sussex is not one market. Local knowledge
The East Sussex towns I build for
East Sussex runs from the Downs above Brighton to the Kent border at Rye — coastal resorts, a county town, two regenerating seaside towns and a rural Wealden interior, each with its own customers.
Eastbourne
The largest town in the county, and still a tourism and conference economy at heart — seafront hotels, the Devonshire Park venues, a hospitality trade living on bookings made months ahead. Alongside it sits a very large retired and professional population, which changes what a site has to do: clear type, obvious phone numbers, forms nobody has to fight. Clinics, solicitors, advisers and trades all sell into that audience.
Hastings and St Leonards
Hastings has rebuilt itself around a creative and digital sector — studios, makers, photographers and independent traders through the Old Town and St Leonards. The bar for design is higher than the population suggests: customers are design-literate and half your competition builds things for a living. A 2014 template gets dismissed on sight.
Lewes
The county town and the professional services centre for this side of Sussex — solicitors, accountants, surveyors, architects and consultancies, plus one of the strongest independent high streets in the South East. Lewes buys local on purpose, so the site has to signal you’re part of the town, not a national brand with a local postcode.
Uckfield and Crowborough
The Wealden market towns, where the economy is commuters and trades rather than footfall. Builders, electricians, plumbers, roofers, tree surgeons and garages here cover a wide rural patch — Heathfield, Buxted, Rotherfield, Mayfield, Wadhurst. That needs proper service-area pages, not one line saying “East Sussex covered”.
Bexhill, Seaford and Newhaven
Three very different coastal towns. Bexhill is quiet, residential and older, with the De La Warr Pavilion pulling a cultural audience. Seaford is largely residential and sends much of its trade to Lewes and Eastbourne. Newhaven is the working port — freight, marine services, engineering — where the buyer is another business and the site is judged on capability.
Battle and Rye
Small, historic and visitor-driven. Both run on tourism, hospitality, galleries, holiday lets and independent shops, with a season that swings hard between August and February. Sites here earn their keep on photography, opening hours and a booking route that works on a phone.

Four stages, from first conversation to a website you can run yourself.
First
Planning
A meeting at your place in East Sussex, at my Brighton studio or over video: your goals, your customers, your local competition. You leave with a timeline and transparent pricing.
Then
Design
A custom mockup built around your brand and your East Sussex customers — free, before you commit a penny. I put ideas forward rather than just taking orders.
After that
Build
