Interior Designer Website Design
Interior designer website design that showcases your projects
I’m Spencer, and Podium Design is my freelance web design studio in Brighton, UK. As an interior design web designer, I specialise in creating beautiful, functional designs that are both aesthetically pleasing and easy to use.
I’m passionate about my work, and I’m always exploring new ways to push the boundaries of graphic design. If you’re looking for fresh, innovative designs that will make your business stand out from the crowd, I’d love to help. Contact me today to discuss your project requirements.
You don’t need a generalist — you need an interior design website designer who has done this before. If your studio site is dated rather than missing, a website redesign is usually the quicker and cheaper route.
Talk it through →Why interior designers need a professional website
My web design for interior designers is visual-first, letting your projects and style sell the enquiry. I’ve designed interior design websites that turn visitors into enquiries — take a look at the examples below.
Interior design website designers face a problem other sectors don’t: the client’s work is visual, their taste is the product, and a website that imposes a house style undermines the thing they’re selling. So your site needs to:
Show your projects at full size, not thumbnail size
Reflect your own style and brand rather than a house template
Load fast on phones, where most people first see your work
Read as a studio rather than a directory listing
Qualify enquiries before they reach your inbox
Show up when someone searches for an interior designer near them
Interior design studios, independent designers and decorators each need a slightly different balance of portfolio to process, and it’s worth deciding which you are before the build starts. That’s the first thing I’ll ask you about.
Design is the paradise of individuality, eccentricity, abnormality, and humors.
What makes a good interior design website?
Every interior design website I build starts from the same place: the work comes first, and everything else gets out of its way. Here’s what separates a portfolio site that generates enquiries from one that only looks nice.
Design that gets out of the way
So the design has to get out of the way. Big imagery, generous space, restrained type, and a portfolio structure that lets a project breathe rather than compressing it into a grid of thumbnails.
An enquiry form that qualifies
Website design for interior designers also has to handle the enquiry properly. Interior design is a consultation sale with a wide budget range, so the form should establish scope, property type and rough budget before the first call — which saves you the meetings that were never going to convert.
Project pages, not a wall of thumbnails
Each project gets room to tell its own story — the brief, the rooms, the materials, the before and after. That is the page a prospective client actually reads before they pick up the phone.
Photography treated as the main content
Interior photography is expensive, and it shouldn’t be shrunk to fit a template. I size, crop and compress your images so they stay sharp on a retina screen without slowing the page down.
Booking or e-commerce when you need it
Some studios only need a portfolio. Others want an online booking system for consultations, or an online shop for furniture, fabrics and finishes. Both are straightforward to add.
Easy for you to keep current
Your portfolio changes every time a project completes. Built on WordPress, adding a new project, swapping the hero image or updating your services takes minutes and doesn’t need me.
Whether you’re an interior design studio, an independent designer or a decorator, the site should look like your work — not like a template with your photos dropped into it.
See the examplesHow much does an interior design website cost?
Most interior design websites I build start from around £800, with the final figure depending on the number of pages, the size of your portfolio, and whether you need booking or e-commerce functionality.
A larger studio site with detailed project pages, a shop for furniture or finishes, or an online booking system will sit further up that range. I’ll tell you which you actually need before you spend anything.
Every project gets a fixed quote upfront — no hourly billing, no surprise invoices. And I offer a free mockup before you commit, so you can see exactly what you’re getting.
Optional ongoing costs: hosting from £10/month, SEO retainers from £250/month.

Portfolio and project pages
The part of an interior designer’s website that does the actual selling. I’ll structure your portfolio so each project has its own page, with full-width photography, before and after comparisons, and enough written context that a visitor understands what you were asked to do and what you delivered.
Filtering by project type — residential, commercial, kitchens, whole-house — makes it easy for someone to find work that looks like the job they have in mind.
Responsive design across every device
Responsive web design is ensuring the website renders well across all devices, such as phones, tablets, or desktops, improving the usability and experience for the user. Every interior design website I build is tested on iPhone, Android, tablet and desktop before it goes live.
All of it included as standard. Fixed price, no retainer.

Responsive web design is ensuring the website renders well across all devices, such as phones, tablets, or desktops, improving the usability and experience for the user.
What software do I use for web design?
My websites are either built with WordPress or Shopify. For my WordPress builds I’ll use either WP Bakery or DIVI, which are visual / no-code builders which allows users to make changes themselves once the site is built.
Why web design is important?
When someone searches for a product or service online and sees your business, having a nice website will give them a good impression, better user experience, allow them to navigate your website quickly and easily, and in turn will help with enquiries.
How long does it take, and what’s the turnaround time?
The turnaround time for websites varies massively from project to project. The main factor is content and complexity. Typically for a 5-page website, I normally turn these around in 5-7 days. If you are looking for a larger website around 10-15 pages, I allow for around 3 weeks.
