Sussex runs along the south coast from Chichester through Brighton and Hove to Rye, and I support small businesses across both counties. This is freelance SEO built for businesses that want measurable results without paying agency retainers. For the full method, see my local SEO checklist.
Talk it through →What my SEO service covers
Ranking on Google isn’t one silver bullet — it’s dozens of small, evidence-based things working together across the technical foundation, on-page, content and local signals.
Technical SEO audit & fixes
A full audit covering crawl errors, indexation, site speed, Core Web Vitals, mobile usability, broken links, redirect chains, schema markup and XML sitemaps. Fixing the foundation makes everything after it work harder.
Local SEO for Sussex
Making sure you show up when nearby customers search — Google Business Profile, location pages, reviews and local links all working together. This is where most Sussex businesses win or lose the enquiry.
Keyword research & search intent
I research the exact commercial and informational queries your customers use — including service-plus-location variations and long-tail terms — and give you a prioritised keyword map matched to specific pages, with volume, difficulty and intent.
On-page optimisation
Page titles, meta descriptions, H1/H2 structure, internal linking, image alt text, schema markup, canonical tags and semantic keyword coverage — the on-page signals that tell Google what each page deserves to rank for.
Content that ranks
Content strategy and writing built around what your customers actually search — not keyword-stuffed filler, but pages that answer the question and earn the click.
Monthly reporting
A clear monthly report showing what was done and what moved — rankings, traffic and the changes behind them. No jargon, no mystery retainer.

Get a free SEO auditWhat does local SEO in Sussex actually involve?
Making sure you show up when nearby customers search: your Google Business Profile, location pages, reviews and local links all working together. For a business serving a specific patch of Sussex, that local visibility is usually where most of the enquiries come from.
How much does SEO cost?
My packages start at £250/month for Local SEO Starter, £500/month for Growth, and custom pricing for larger or more competitive work. Fair freelance rates in the UK typically run £250–£1,500/month depending on scope. All monthly rolling, no lock-in.
How long does SEO take to work?
Technical fixes can help within weeks, but meaningful ranking movement usually takes three to six months, and competitive terms longer. Anyone promising page one in 30 days is selling you something. I’d rather set a realistic expectation and beat it.
Do I need a new website, or can you improve my current one?
Usually I can work with what you have — a lot of SEO is fixing and improving an existing site. If the site is fundamentally holding you back, I’ll tell you honestly, and a rebuild might be the better spend. The free audit makes that clear.
Do you work with businesses across all of Sussex?
Yes — East and West Sussex, from the coast to the inland towns, plus Surrey and the wider UK. Everything is delivered remotely with the same monthly reporting, so where you are makes no difference to the service.
