Purpose Financial Planning

A bespoke WordPress website for an independent Chartered Financial Planner in Edinburgh, replacing a Squarespace site that no longer matched the firm behind it.

Andy Reynolds is a Chartered Financial Planner and a Fellow of the Personal Finance Society. He wanted a site that felt as considered and professional as his advice: calm, clear, jargon-free, and built around booking that first coffee chat.

The brief

More professional than a template, and still warm

Andy had outgrown his Squarespace site. It worked, but it looked like a template, and financial advice is a decision people make on trust.

The new site had to feel established and regulated without feeling corporate. It needed to keep every blog post he’d written, explain his fees and process in plain English, and make the next step obvious: a free, no-obligation coffee chat.

The build

A bespoke design, built properly on WordPress

Designed from scratch rather than adapted from a theme demo, then built so Andy can edit every page himself.

A calm, credible look

Deep teal and mint, a serif for headings and a clean sans for body copy, and an Arthur’s Seat hero that says Edinburgh without a single stock skyline. The team page gives Andy, his paraplanner, his investment partner and Mac, the “Director of Happiness”, a real presence.

Plain English, start to finish

Seven clear steps from coffee chat to ongoing review, fees for individuals and companies set out upfront with worked examples, and FAQs that answer the questions people are nervous to ask, like exit fees and independence.

Nothing lost in the move

All 37 blog posts came across from Squarespace with their images, credited to Andy. Video meeting booking, the client portal, the client forms, the newsletter sign-up and the FCA regulatory wording in the footer are all in place.

Purpose now has a website that looks as considered as the advice behind it, on a platform Andy owns outright and can keep adding to.

The result

A site that earns trust before the first meeting

A bespoke, professional website with every blog post intact, the fees and process laid out plainly, and a clear route to a free coffee chat on every page.
