Showcasing quality work to win better clients
Faulks Ltd is a construction, building and landscaping company based in Hove. Tom got in touch via Instagram — he needed a website that would showcase his work properly and look professional when presenting to potential clients.
Like a lot of tradespeople, Tom had the portfolio to back up his reputation but nothing online to show for it. When you’re quoting on bigger jobs, being able to send someone to a proper website makes a difference.
The brief
Tom gave me the photos and free reign on the design. He knew what he wanted the site to achieve — showcase the work, look professional — but was happy to let me figure out how to get there.
The build
I started with Figma, putting together five or six different design directions. Rather than just sending them over, we met in person to go through them properly. It’s easier to talk through options face-to-face, and Tom could explain what he liked and didn’t like about each approach.
He loved the last design, so we went ahead with that. From there, the website came together quickly — when the direction is clear and the client knows what they want, there’s no reason to drag things out.
The full package
Beyond the website, I also set up his social media pages and Google My Business profile. For a local trade business, being findable on Google Maps and having a consistent presence across platforms matters. It all works together — someone sees the work on Instagram, checks the website, finds the business on Google, gets in touch.
The result
Tom’s now got a professional online presence that matches the quality of his work. When he’s talking to potential clients, he can point them somewhere that shows exactly what Faulks Ltd can do.
