Building an online presence from scratch
Belmont Designs is a family-run architectural design practice based in Burgess Hill. They specialise in bespoke residential projects — everything from small extensions to full housing developments — and have particular expertise in conservation and listed building work. The kind of thoughtful, detail-oriented design that older Sussex properties often need.
Jenny got in touch because they’d been operating without a website. The work was there, the reputation was solid, but they had no online presence. For anyone searching for architectural designers in Sussex, Belmont Designs was invisible.
The brief
Jenny provided the content but gave me free reign on the design. That’s a nice position to be in — it meant I could focus on what would actually work rather than implementing someone else’s preconceptions.
The goal was straightforward: create a professional online presence that showcased their work and made it easy for potential clients to get in touch. Nothing overcomplicated, just a solid foundation for a business that had been relying on word-of-mouth.
The build
We went through a few design revisions until we landed on something Jenny loved. When you’ve got creative freedom, you still need client buy-in — so it was a collaborative process of refining ideas until the direction felt right.
WordPress and Divi
Built on WordPress using Divi, which gives Jenny the ability to make updates herself if needed. For a small practice, being able to tweak content without calling a developer makes life easier.
Keeping it current
I added an Instagram feed integration so the site automatically pulls in their latest work. It’s a simple way to keep the website feeling fresh without requiring manual updates — every time they post a project photo on Instagram, it appears on the site.
A contact form handles enquiries directly, making it easy for potential clients to reach out.
The result
Jenny was really happy with how everything turned out. Belmont Designs now have a professional online presence that reflects the quality of their work. For a family practice competing against larger firms, that visibility matters — people can now find them, see what they do, and get in touch.
